Māramatanga: The power of the resolute, enduring heart. It speaks to the creative power, passion, spirit, and the resolute drive to acquire the knowledge of the gods. The many and varied forms of toi, the traditional forms of art and creative expression ensure that the multiple bodies and systems of knowledge of the gods and story of creation are retained and passed on to successive generations.
Ngā Āhuatanga: This Manawa supports the retention and maintenance of traditional art forms such as Whakairo, Rāranga, Mau Rākau, and other traditional practices. It speaks to the beating heart of the Rangahau creation pūrākau; and it embraces the development of new creative ideas and turning them into reality.
Hapori: Toi, Whakairo, Raranga, Mau Rākau, and other forms of art and design and types of creative expression.
