Expertise

Sally’s professional background expands across multiple fields including Business Development, Social Work, Youth Development, Social Policy, Mental Health, and Additions and Education.

Sally has worked alongside Iwi & community groups as well as within the Ministry of Māori Development, Ministry of Social Development, and the Ministry of Health championing Indigenous approaches to health and wellbeing. For the past 10 years, she has spent her career focusing on the development and advancement of Māori within the Education sector. Sally has been with Te Wānanga ō Aotearoa since 2018. Prior to joining Te Manawahoukura in November 2022, she was the Aukaha Ako for Te Waenga Takiwā. 

Sally graduated in 2024 with a Professional Doctorate in Indigenous Development and Advancement. Her rangahau investigates Rongo ā Puku and how we can access puku as a source of intelligence to inform wellbeing.
